Growing Dahlias

I just love everything about this dahlia!

I love how it's petals have bright white tips that merge into to a dark raspberry and then gradually fade to a creamy yellow. I also love it's long tubular petals... it's like they are waving to you when you look at them. And when fully opened up, I think the flower looks like a beautiful and colorful sea anemone or coral, you know, something that you might find while snorkeling in the tropics.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what variety it is... I didn't write down the variety when I bought it this spring. I know! I've been kicking myself for that! I do know that I bought it at Walmart (can you believe that?) and I bought 3 tubers. Oh, and that it's a cactus type of dahlia...but, that's all I know.

I really do love it and will most certainly be digging it up in the weeks to come and over-wintering the tubers inside so that I can grow it again next year.

Here are a few more photos of it ... if anyone knows the variety, please let me know!
